(Web Desk) - Will Smith commented on Jada Pinkett Smith's most recent book, "Worthy." The actor acknowledged that the memoir had a significant effect on him and said it "kind of woke him up."

In response, Will Smith sent an email to The New York Times where he said that his long-term relationship with Jada had caused him to experience what he called "emotional blindness."

The unexpected revelation that the pair had been estranged for seven years is one of Jada's admissions in the memoir. Many others, including Will, were shocked to learn this information.

Also brought up by Jada Pinkett Smith was the incident at the 2022 Academy Awards where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after making a joke about her.

She said they hadn't used the phrase "husband and wife" in a "long time."

The memoir clarifies the nuances of their union, as well as Jada's previous liaison with August Alsina when she was still wed to Will Smith.

Jada said that when issues occur, the general public feels the need to assign blame.
